Itinerary
Day 1 - Sheikh Hussein border / Jerash / Amman
Your Jordan and Petra tour from Israel will begin with an early morning pick up. Pickup is available from your Jerusalem or Tel Aviv hotel.
We will head North to the Sheikh Hussein border. Here, you will need all of your patient for the border crossing procedures. Next, you will meet your Jordanian tour guide and begin your tour.
Highlights of the day - a visit to Jerash, a magnificent ancient Roman city and later a city tour of Amman. We will stay for the night in Amman.
We will drive North to the Sheikh Hussein border crossing. Your Jordanian tour guide will be waiting for you on the Jordanian side.
Our first sit will be Jerash, one of the ten cities of the Decapolis. In Jerash, we will walk through the beautifully preserved Roman city, one of the largest in the Middle East.
We will enter through the impressive triumphal arch, see the hippodrome, and walk along the colonnaded streets.
At the end of the day, we will continue to Amman, where we will be spending the night, for a panoramic tour.
Day 2 - Amman / Petra
What a day is a head of us - Petra, the red city. In the morning, we will leave Amman and drive to Petra. We will spend the day at this magnificent ancient Nabatean Capital. Carved in the red rock, Petra is also known as the Rose city. You will be able to chose between a horse ride and a walk through the magnificent Siq.
After a fascinating day, we will drive to the new city of Petra for overnight.
Today is the heart of the Jordan & Petra tour from Israel. After an early breakfast at the hotel, we will head out for a 3.5-hour drive to Petra, the ancient Nabatean capital. Once in Petra, we can either take a horse ride or walk to the Siq, the main entrance to Petra (approx. 1.2 kms) . We will walk along the long and narrow, winding canyon, in awe of its towering red rocks. As we will reach the end of the Siq, we will see the Treasury, at first through the narrow opening in the Siq and then rising above us in full glory. We will also see the altar, the field of tombs and obelisks.
After the tour we will take a short drive to Wadi Musa, the modern village of Petra, for overnight.
Petra / Madaba / Mt. Nebo / Allenby Bridge
A beautiful day featuring some of Jordan's most interesting sites. We will begin the day by visiting the ancient mosaic map of the Holy Land in Madaba. We will later drive to Mt. Nebo, where Moses stood and viewed the Promised Land. At the end of the day will continue to the border with Israel.
The tour will end at your hotel in Jerusalem or Tel-Aviv.
This is the last day of our Jordan and Petra tour from Israel but certainly not the least. Leave Petra and drive to Madaba, where we will see the ancient mosaic map of the Holy Land, made from countless tiny, colored stones.
We then continue to Mt. Nebo, on which Moses stood and beheld the Promised Land spread out before him. On a clear day, we will be able to see the Jordan valley, Jericho and the Dead Sea. After a visit of the Byzantine church, we continue to the border and then to Jerusalem or to Tel-Aviv.

- Border taxes and visa fee are not included in the rate.
- The tour in Petra involves quite a bit of walking, comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
- We suggest you bring along a hat, sunglasses, sun screen and drink pleny of water on hot days.
