Drive along the shores of the Red Sea and the striking desert scenery to visit the ancient monastery of St. Catherine.
Taba Border
Leave Eilat and cross over to the Sinai Peninsula via the Taba border crossing.
Red Sea Coast
Travelling along the Red Sea coast, we will see the Fjord and Pharaoh's Island, which harbors a Byzantine fortress.
St. Catherine Monastery
On rout to St. Catherine's Monastery, we will pass Bedouin settlements, set in the striking desert scenery.
Set at the foot of Mt. Sinai, the monastery is built on the very spot where God appeared to Moses. Built between 548 and 565, St. Catherine's monastery has not been ravaged or destroyed throughout its history and to this day maintains its Greek and Roman heritage.
From early times to this day, the monks of Sinai are dedicated to prayer and to aiding the many pilgrims who visit the Monastery.
Our visit will include the monastery, the Burning Bush Chapel and the Well of Jethro.
(entrance to the Chamber of Skulls is subject to a fee and availability).
